AI and DI?

  “AI” and “DI”?    The use of AI “Artificial Intelligence” is slowly creeping into society and into our lives in indirect and sometimes direct ways.   We have seen the negative results of thousands of lost jobs due to AI performing a lot of repetitive tasks and even performing complex tasks.   Like any new technology – as Christians we are tasked with learning to navigate the technology without abandoning our life of faith and trust in Jesus Christ.   I think that as we navigate the AI world, we also need to remember the incredibly awesome and life changing world of DI !   I guess I am trying to pen a somewhat new term of “ DI ”.   It is the D ivine I nfluence of God , the D ivine I nspiration , and the D ivine I nsight !   In your use of AI, don’t forget the DI!    Sometime ago I was thinking about using AI to write a spiritually themed blog.   When I used it to put some thoughts together, I thought that it did a pretty...

Broken and Blessed

  Broken and Blessed      I hope you are having a great day today.   I have been going through some difficult times and have not done a lot of writing lately, but here are some thoughts that I have had lately on the subject of brokenness.    There is an interesting verse in the Bible that I read a long time ago. The verse is in the book of Matthew 21 and verse 44.   “Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken. If the stone falls on anyone, it will crush that person." (Matt. 21:44 GW Translation)   There are a couple of different ways to look at this verse.   This verse talks about two types of people, those who fall on the stone and those whom the stone falls on.   The first could either refer to someone who falls, or stumbles on the message of Jesus, or it could refer to someone who willingly falls, or submits to Christ.   When I first read this verse, I felt that it was referring to the brokenness that someon...

Gift#4: Inner Strength

     I hope you are having a great day again today.   I am continuing with my series on gifts, and I have a few more gifts from God to talk about.   Again, I apologize for not writing blogs as often as I normally have in the past.    The next gift that I would like to talk about is another completely wonderful, awesome gift!   It is the gift of God’s strength during difficult times!   Life is often full of challenging times.   Some of the difficult challenges that we have in our life are caused by our own bad choices, some are caused by the bad choices of others, and some occur simply because we live in a fallen world.   I talked about a number of difficulties that I have endured in my life in the book that I was able to write called “ Recalculating, Redirecting ”.    I wrote that book to let people know of my struggles in life.   I think that whenever someone is involved in some sort of public ministry like I hav...

Gift #3: The Bible

     I hope you are having a great day today.   I am continuing with my series on gifts, and I have a few more gifts to talk about.   Again, I apologize for not writing blogs as often as I normally have in the past. The next gift that I would like to talk about is another completely wonderful, awesome gift!   It is the gift of the Bible!   When I first became a Christian, the believers at a Church that I was attending at the time (Mount Olive Baptist Church in Goldsboro North Carolina) taught me that I needed to become a disciple of Jesus and develop disciplines in my life.   The four disciplines that they encouraged me to develop was Prayer, Bible study, Worship, and Witnessing.   Now that it is forty-seven years later, I am very thankful that I had those disciplines in my life!   I would like to encourage you to develop these disciplines in your life.   There are so many benefits to reading the Bible on a regular basis and...

Gift #2 Forgiveness

           I hope you are having a great day today.  I started a new series of blogs with my last post, about some of my favorite gifts from God.  The first gift that I mentioned was “The gift of The Assurance of Heaven.”  I hope that it was a good reminder to you that if you are trusting in Jesus, then you can be absolutely sure that you will go to heaven when you die!  A loving and intelligent God (which He is), would never want you to be guessing where you were going to spend eternity!  I am thankful for the Bible which shows us the heart and the words of Jesus which remind us in John 14:3 “I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (KJV)        The next gift that I would like to talk about is another completely wonderful, awesome gift!  It is the gift of forgiveness from God that you experience when you first become a Ch...
